Our story began more than six decades ago with a simple, profound calling — to care for children.
In the early 1960s, leaders of the Arlington Church of Christ envisioned a Christian home for children who needed safety, love, and hope. That dream became a reality in 1964 with the founding of Rainbow Christian Services. Over the years, Rainbow Christian Services grew from a small children’s home in Virginia into a vibrant ministry that touched countless lives through foster care, adoption, maternity care, and counseling.
Throughout each chapter, one truth remained constant: it was always about caring for God’s children. From residential care in the 1960s and ‘70s to professional counseling and family support in the 2000s, Rainbow Christian Services never wavered in its mission to serve those most vulnerable with faith and love.
A New Chapter: His Place for Grace
Today, that same spirit of compassion continues under a new name and renewed purpose. In 2024, the Board of Directors prayerfully reimagined the organization’s mission for a changing world. Recognizing the growing need for faith-based counseling, Rainbow Christian Services evolved into Cornerstone Christian Services, reaffirming its spiritual foundation and commitment to Christ-centered support.
Out of this transformation came His Place for Grace — a Christian counseling center committed to offering hope, healing, and restoration through Christ-centered therapy.
At His Place for Grace, our mission is to provide accessible, professional counseling within a Christian framework to individuals, couples, and families that promotes healing, strengthens relationships, and restores hope. Rooted in the legacy of Rainbow Christian Services, we will continue to serve the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Through our virtual platform, clients will be able to connect with licensed Christian therapists who combine professional expertise with biblical principles. Our goal is simple: to ensure that no one seeking help is ever turned away.
